Newcastle fans have been given the brilliant news that Florian Lejeune is almost back to fitness and ready to return to action. The Geordies have been without the Frenchman for too long, and the centre-back is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.
Yesterday was the last time I played for the reserves before coming back with the group. Thank you to all my teammates, can’t wait to be back #readynow pic.twitter.com/VmTpZEJ1LI

However, in the defender’s latest post on Twitter, he’s claimed that he’s played his last game for the club’s U23s this season and will soon be joining up with the senior squad for a matchday, something which the fans have loved to see.
The Frenchman has proved to be one of the best defenders at the club during his time there, and alongside the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark he’s one of a number of solid defenders that can be called upon at St. James’ Park.
Who is Newcastle's best defender?
Fernandez
Lejeune
Schar
