“Definitely” – Newcastle ace wants Ashley to open his pockets to seal important summer deal

|

Newcastle United have been hesitant to spend big in recent years under the ownership of Mike Ashley, with the owner continually pinching the pennies at St. James’ Park.

However, to be fair to him, Ashley did splash the cash on Miguel Almiron in January – but it seems as though Newcastle man Ayoze Perez wants him to spend some more money this summer.

Indeed, as per the Chronicle, Perez has indicated that he’d like the club to sign Salomon Rondon on a permanent deal.

He said: “I would like him to stay, definitely. He is a great player and makes the players around him even better…He is doing a great job and scoring a lot of goals.”

Perez has clearly impressed by Rondon – and with good reason. Not only is he scoring, but his hold-up play, link-up play and his overall ability with the ball at his feet are all brilliant.

He’s not the most prolific forward in the game, but he’s already popped up with some important goals, and he’s forming a great trio with Miguel Almiron and Perez already.

Of course, he’s only at the club on a one-year loan at present, and so he’s set to return to West Brom at the end of the season. It’ll be up to the Newcastle brass, and West Brom themselves, as to whether he stays at the club long-term.
