Newcastle United have been dealt a blow to their chances of picking up three points against Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday, as it likes like one of Spurs’ star players is likely to make his return after missing their previous two games with an injury.

Just like the international break has given us a chance to get Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin closer to fitness, Spurs will be boosted by the potential return to Son Heung-min.

The South Korean icon has enjoyed an incredible season under Jose Mourinho and can boast a staggering 17 goals and 14 assists to his name in the 39 games he has played for the club in all competitions.

The formidable partnership built up by Son and Harry Kane is something that we will have to be extremely wary off.

He originally got injured in the North London derby and sat out of the subsequent fixtures with Dinamo Zagreb and Aston Villa but the forward was pictured in training. An ominous sign for Toon fans.

Jose Mourinho also stated in his press conference that Son trained with the team fully this morning, all but confirming the availability of his star.

It would’ve been a nice bonus if Son had been unavailable for the game on Sunday but it should not change the way we look to approach the game.

If we are proactive with and without the ball and don’t just allow Spurs to have attack after attack, I think we stand half a chance whether they have Son back or not.

Unfortunately, that is a massive if and if we revert to type and sit in deep, the likes of Son could have an absolute field day against us and tear us apart.

Steve Bruce has potentially a few players of his own coming back, with Allan Saint-Maximin looking likely to feature and Callum Wilson potentially not too far behind the Frenchman.
