Newcastle’s attack has got a whole lot more exciting following the arrival of Miguel Almiron, and Ayoze Perez’s latest comments indicate that the best is yet to come.
Discussing Newcastle’s attacking trio of himself, Miguel Almiron and Salomon Rondon, as per the Chronicle, he said: “We play the same kind of football and we are quite similar. So we understand each other a lot.”
He also said: “Rondon is also making us play the game easier most of the time. We have a good relationship and link up well up front well. Hopefully, we can take advantage of that.”
On their own, Perez, Almiron and Rondon are brilliant players, but together they could lead us to glory. We’ve seen over the last couple of years how impactful a solid attack can be, with Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino all impressing.
The fact that Perez is clearly enjoying playing with them is good too, as that can only have a positive impact on the field.
Given the time, perhaps our terrific trio can reach similar heights.
Rondon offers the perfect option going forward, given his size, stature and brilliant hold-up play. Almiron and Perez, meanwhile, offer fantastic energy and creativity, and their link-up play has already been on display this term.
Hopefully, they can combine well between now and the end of the season.
