Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin mocks Sunderland player with must-see social media post

|

It has been a few years now since Newcastle and Sunderland’s senior teams faced-off against each other and that means a war of words is the only way to get one over on a rival.

We of course enjoy the prestige of being two divisions above the Black Cats, possessing quality players like Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin, and the latter has been keen to ignite the rivalry on occasion.

Sunderland’s Chris Maguire thought he would answer one fan’s recent question by deriding our club, stating that he’d never want to play for us, a response that likely met with a good response from Sunderland fans.

Saint-Maximin, however, is often as quick with his wit as he is with the ball at his feet. Earlier this season he stated that he wished he could score his first goal against Sunderland, but couldn’t for obvious reasons, and accompanied his message with a gif implying he found the situation amusing.

He has now fired back at Maguire in a similar fashion, using another gif to share his bemusement at the winger’s comments, as if to imply that it doesn’t matter if Maguire doesn’t want to play for the Magpies, as he is not good enough to anyway.
