Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate looks certain to miss Newcastle’s visit to the Riverside on Sunday 22nd October.
The 26-year-old, currently on loan from Real Madrid, has picked up an injury in training.
Boro refuse to comment but it seems a groin problem is part of the problem. And a rumour from the Riverside suggests the injury could involve his thigh, which has caused him problems for three years.
He joined Real in a £13.4million move from Newcastle in August 2004 and only managed 14 matches for the Spanish side in two seasons.
