We’re Not Done With Migtober As Almiron Scoops Another Award

|

Miguel Almiron has been on cloud nine recently following his amazing displays throughout October, now known (by me) as Migtober.

The Paraguayan scooped the EA Sports Player Of The Month and Goal Of The Month as well as the club’s own Player of the Month award, and now he has beaten out Erling Haaland to the PFA Fan’s Player Of The Month.

Other players in contention were Granit Xhaka of Arsenal, Kevin De Bruyne of Man City, Brighton’s Leandro Trossard and Newcastle’s very own Bruno Guimaraes.

As I’ve said before, there was nobody even close to Miguel Almiron for Player Of The Month in October and if any award had gone against him it would have been a crime against the sport.

For Miggy to have done a clean sweep on all the awards after all the negative attention directed to him after a certain Mr Grealish flapped his drunken gums shows the character of the man. He didn’t let Grealish’s words get him down, he just got on with his job and went about proving him wrong. Although he claims that the England man’s words had no bearing on his performances, I’d be amazed if there wasn’t just a small part of him that would love to rub it in Grealish’s face. He’s only human.

With Paraguay not qualifying for the World Cup, Miggy will be heading off to Saudi Arabia with the lads for the warm-weather training camp and scheduled friendly with Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal Football Club.
