With yet another weekend having passed far quicker than we’d have liked and the start of yet another working week upon us, it’s time to reflect on a couple of pieces of Twitter speculation, that appeared this weekend, linking Newcastle to the acquisition of a couple of players.
Both players featured are currently plying their trade in Europe.
The first is Oguzhan Ozyakup who is currently on the books of the Turkish side Besiktas:

Whilst the second is Kasim Nuhu who is currently on the books of the Swiss side BSC Young Boys:

Ozyakup is valued at £15 million whilst Nuhu is valued at £8 million which, by my mathematics, would mean an outlay, in transfer fees of £23 million for the pair.
Now I readily admit I’ve not seen either player play, I’m not one for viewing clips of players on such sites as YouTube, but, to me, it seems a big outlay for a duo that have yet to play in the ‘better’ leagues in Europe.
But then again, you could argue that you have to speculate to accumulate.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Newcastle hierarchy would sanction spending such an outlay.
We can but wait and see!
