Time For NUFC Feet To Stay On The Ground

If someone had said before the season started that we’d be above Chelsea going into the Christmas programme, we’d be thinking thoughts of Champions league or the Europa League at worst.

That said, it’s not impossible that the current champions cant go down due to their lacklustre form as everyone else will be busting a gut to beat them although the way this season is going, anything can happen yet and they could just as easily get Europe themselves with only eleven points seperating them from 5th and us being ten away.

With us gaining six points in a week against the two form teams of the division, a continuation of our improved results could shape a different transfer window and even so, a closure of the gap towards the top eight and another decent spend in the window of £50million plus could further enhance the thoughts that the club really do want change.

With results breeding delusion at times though, the up and down nature of the rollercoaster has history to guide us by and we cant lose focus of the bigger picture, which is a club that has so far existed to benefit the well being of Mike Ashley and his cohorts.

Positive results though, will help to thaw the ice that freezes the gates of optimism shut at Ashley’s NUFC and I dont think any of us would unwelcome a prosperous future.

Committed performances and the club not milked for every inch of it’s worth is not that much to ask.
