Newcastle’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain prospect Stanley Nsoki has hit a major roadblock, with Soccer Link reporting that the defender is not enthusiastic about joining the Magpies.
United’s advances to the Ligue 1 giant are thought to have seen an agreement reached toward the end of July, with the Toon shaking hands with Thomas Tuchel’s Les Parisiens on an €11million (£10m) deal.
Talks with Nsoki’s representatives have not been as smooth, however, as France Football later noted that negotiations stalled because of the distance between our valuations of his worth, given the role we had proposed the left-back would occupy in Steve Bruce’s plans.
Despite alleged interest from AS Roma and SS Lazio, we remain the only side to have formalised our interest, according to information acquired by Soccer Link, and have left the 20-year-old’s agents pushing him to accept the terms tabled.
Nsoki, though, is reluctant to join Bruce’s squad at St James’ Park ahead of the new Premier League season, and is thought to have never been excited by the prospect of life on Tyneside.
Instead, he may wait to see if any other offers are received, given the Italian transfer window does not close until August 23, while French, Spanish and German outfits have until September 2 to conclude their business. The English market, on the other hand, slams shut next Thursday at 17:00 for top-flight and second-tier sides.
Newcastle fans reacting on social media to claims that Nsoki was never excited by the idea of joining United have shared a variety of judgments.
Some have suggested the feeling is mutual, while others found it confusing why he would reject the chance to join a club where he would likely earn regular minutes having played a bit-part role under Tuchel.
Across the 2018/19 season, Nsoki made a total of 15 appearances, but nine of his twelve Ligue 1 outings came before the turn of the year.
Here’s how these fans reacted…
I agree, it’ll be Thauvin all over again. We don’t need that.

What ‘project’ is that? We literally just exist to make up the numbers and fund the fat man.

But, the project is to sell him on for loads of money, which is good for him too ????♂️

Don’t understand that, he will get lots of practise in defending. Will be character building for that lad.
