Supporters Debate Left Back`s Prospective Newcastle Switch

|

It`s no secret that Rafa is a fan of Luke Shaw. The Chronicle have regularly reported that the manager likes the Manchester United full-back, but his lack of availability up until now has been a stumbling block (as well as his likely transfer fee).

A number of reports over the weekend have suggested that the 22 year old’s substitution at half time during the 2-0 win against Brighton was the final straw for the player who has struggled to convince Jose Mourinho of his ability.

It is looking likely then he will be sold by United in the summer. So, should we be making a bid? There is no doubt that strengthening at left back would be a priority, with the team struggling in the absence of Dummett when our no.3 suffered a hamstring injury earlier this season.

It wasn`t ideal playing Manquillo or Mbemba out of position so a new recruit at full back is likely a summer priority. Still, if the current ownership remains in place, it`s doubtful we will have the funds to sign someone like Shaw, especially if we are seeking to seal a deal for another left sided player in Kenedy as well. Newcastle supporters on Twitter are not that optimistic that we could secure the United outcast`s transfer:
