Story Time: Fabian Schar – A Rags To Riches Story – Opinion

|

Once upon a time, there was a handsome prince called Fabian who, despite his clearly obvious attributes, was left to rot in a prison by the evil Baron of Bacon until one day, a beautiful Queen called Amanda came along and banished the Baron of Bacon to the Midlands and sent a White Knight called Eddie to free Fabian from his hell and unleash him back on challenging lands of of the Premiership.

Life was good for young Fabian before the Baron of Bacon came along. Joining Newcastle from relegated Deportivo La Coruna for a mere £3m, Schar quickly endeared himself to the locals with strong defensive displays and flashes of attacking brilliance too. Scoring a belting 30-yard goal against Burnley which bagged him a Goal Of The Month award.

Soon, however, the evil Baron dropped Fabian from the starting line-up, possibly because he was deemed to skilful to fit into his “hoofball” style of play, and glimpses of the handsome prince became rarer and rarer, as did the points for the Magpies.

Then, in early October of the 2021st year, King Mehrdad and Queen Amanda rode into town backed by their powerful allies, and using the power of money, ousted the Mad King Ashley and eventually ridding the Geordieland of the Baron.

After a long, intense search, the White Knight, Sir Eddie of Howe was appointed to the realm and he almost immediately began to bring prosperity back to the lands, and one of the key components of this, was to restore Prince Fabian to the starting lineup, a move that was repaid in the first battle of the new season when Robin Hood’s men came to town from Sherwood Forest and Schar would use his powers to rifle home another shot in very similar fashion to that one against Burnley.

As Schar grew into his new role as stalwart, he formed a strong bond with the young man they call Sven, and together they kept attackers at bay whilst making the whole job look very easy.

Schar was honoured with a spot in the FIFA 23 Team of the Week after a battling display against the Red Devils.
