It seems that the incoming Sean Dyche will be powerless to stop Anthony Gordon leaving even if he wanted to (which I’m not sure he would have) as Sky Sports claim that Newcastle and Everton have agreed a structured fee for the midfielder.
While Everton were initially holding out for around £60m, it seems they have now agreed on a deal worth £45m to allow the wantaway forward to leave Goodison Park, consisting of £40m up front plus add ons.
It’s now believed that the deal will be completed over the weekend.

It was only this morning that the thinking was that Sean Dyche was set for showdown talks with Gordon, but it now seems that business is continuing and Gordon will leave regardless of Dyche’s input.
There was a brief moment on Tyneside where those against the transfer breathed a sigh of relief, but now it seems that it’s becoming inevitable that Anthony Gordon will be a Magpie before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night, which is also when we have our home leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final – could be potentially be presented to the crowd at St James’ Park before the game?
As much as fans aren’t keen on Gordon right now, I’m confident that he will be given a fair shot to impress at Newcastle, but I fear for him making any kind of mistake until he has won over the Geordie faithful.
Eddie Howe obviously sees something in the kid, so we have to trust his judgement on this one. He hasn’t made a mistake yet. Even Chris Wood was useful, even though his shooting was reminiscent of running a tap over a spoon.
