Simon Jordan Is Feeling The Heat

|

At the start of the season TalkSPORT’s Jim White and Simon Jordan made a £1000 bet on whether or not Newcastle would finish in the top six this season.

Jordan was adamant that it was too soon for Newcastle to be challenging the big boys, whereas Jim White was confident that they had what it takes to disturb the status quo.

Well, it seems that now Simon Jordan is starting to fear for his wallet, although I’m sure a grand to him is nothing, he is starting to believe.

Rather than lavish praise on Newcastle, however, Jordan has gone down the route of highlighting the underperforming members of the big six, such as Liverpool leaving the door open for Newcastle to saunter through, although he does say that Newcastle haven’t done much wrong this season, as much as you could see his soul dying as he spoke those words.

Will Simon Jordan Be A Grand Worse Off In May?

Nah, still time for others to catch up

Simon Jordan has made no secret of the fact that he isn’t a fan of Newcastle’s new ownership, but his anti-Newcastle stance has softened somewhat lately as he’s noticed just how well run the club is and how the board are getting all the big calls right so far.

He’s maybe not the most popular figure on Tyneside for the things he’s said in the past, but I quite like his blunt nature, he says what he thinks but he’s not afraid to admit when he’s wrong and I can respect that about him. Even if sometimes his backtracks come with caveats where he will use ambiguous language to give himself wiggle room when he’s found out.

That being said, I can’t wait for him to have to part with one thousand of the King’s pounds at the end of the season because at this point, I just don’t see Newcastle dropping out of the top six contention and I’m a massive pessimist!!
