Newcastle’s shirt sponsors, FUN88 ran their usual player of the month competition and this time it was for January.
There was a final shortlist of three players and these were Paul Dummett, Mo Diame and Jacob Murphy.
Using the FUN88 twitter account to reply to, people were asked to vote and this is how it went.
Diame won the vote with nearly two thirds of people voting for the former Senegal international midfielder with him getting 64% of the vote to be named player of the month,
It is a bit of turnaround for Diame considering the stick he received from large parts of the crowd up until fairly recently for some of his lacklustre performances.
His better performances have been rewarded all around and hopefully it continues.
FUN88 will pick someone at random from twitter to present Diame with his award before Sunday’s home game against Man United.
