France star, Marcus Thuram has said he has no intention of moving to “a club like” Newcastle or Aston Villa in January.
The Borussia Monchengladbach striker had been touted as a great signing by Allan Saint-Maximin who said he’d been talking to Thuram to tell him to link up with him at St James’ Park.
However, it looks like Thuram will only move if a certain few clubs show interest.
Marcus Thuram will remain with Borussia Gladbach until the summer unless one of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain comes in for him this window, reports Bild. Player has no interest in joining clubs such as Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain are the only clubs that could tempt Thuram away from Gladbach as it stands according to the German outlet, Bild (via Jacque Talbot on Twitter).
Rebekka Arnold, who writes for FootballFanCast summed it up perfectly by saying “That World Cup Final went straight to his head”

For me, Thuram wasn’t on my list of people I wanted in January anyway, but the disrespect he has shown here (if it’s true that he said this) means that he’ll never be on my list in the future either.
I can’t access the Bild website to read the article for myself, and as context is everything, I’m taking this with a pinch of salt, sometimes things like this get lost in translation, so benefit of the doubt, what he said was not as disrespectful as it sounds here.
That being said, it’s clear that we won’t be bringing Marcus Thuram to Tyneside in January, but as Rebekka Arnold writes, we have still been linked with a move for his brother, Khéphren Thuram from Nice.
