Newcastle v Bournemouth – Team News

|

The teams for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash are in with kick off at 7:45pm

It looks like Eddie Howe is not messing around in the Carabao Cup as he has named a full-strength eleven to face the Cherries.

I was expecting a few big names to be rested for this one with them just returning from international duty and with it being a Carabao Cup match, but it seems Howe is in it to win it, which is fantastic news for the Toon Army.

Lee Ryder of The Chronicle had said he expected a strong team, but I bet even he would be surprised at just how strong this one is. Wilson leading the line with Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Miguel Almiron backing him up. There’s going to be goals tonight that’s for sure.

Howe has also gone with the back five that has got Newcastle into third in the league with Nick Pope protected by Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Dan Burn.

Bournemouth are also lining up strong with Kieffer Moore and Chris Mepham in the starting line up along with Philip Billing. There had been a virus going around the Bournemouth camp according to Lee Ryder, so to see such a strong side is a bit of a surprise, but at least we know we will have a game on our hands.
