Newcastle United v Fulham – Match Preview

|

Newcastle are back in action at St James’ Park tomorrow as they take on Marco Silva’s in-form Fulham in a 2pm Sky Sports televised kick-off.

Both teams go into this game coming off the back of fantastic mid-week results after Newcastle progressed to the Carabao Cup semi final and Fulham saw off Graeme Potter’s Chelsea.

With Manchester United beating Manchester City today, the group behind Arsenal in the league is tightening up and Newcastle will need a win to stay in the mix, especially as we have the disadvantage of having played more games.

Meanwhile, Fulham could sneak into the top 5 with a win, so it’s all to play for in terms of league places tomorrow.

I don’t think Eddie Howe will want to change up a winning team, but I can’t see Joelinton being picked after his behaviour this week, so I am going with Allan Saint-Maximin to make a start. It was a coin toss between him and Alexander Isak, but I think Howe will go with Saint-Maximin’s experience in that position over trying Isak out on the left just yet. Plus, Saint-Maximin could cause Fulham’s defence a lot of problems.

We will definitely see Isak at some point, but I think Callum Wilson gets the nod over him for now. The rest of the team picks itself, again, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Score Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Fulham …. that run of clean sheets has to end sometime and it would just HAVE to be Aleksandar Mitrovic who ends it.
