Newcastle United have announced the winner of their player of the month competition.
The award sponsored by Newcastle’s current main sponsor Fun 88 was for December and had a shortlist of Deandre Yedlin, Christian Atsu and Jamaal Lascelles.
Jamaal Lascelles was the stand out candidate really with almost 52% of the vote with Atsu getting a 35% share.
Lascelles came though a difficult month after recovering from injury earlier in the season, by maintaining his record of us never conceding more than two goals in a game whenever he has played.
The predicted future England international doing his claims no harm with some stand out performances in an improvement of results to see us gain seven points out of our last four games played.
