Howe Commited Despite England Link

|

It seems strange to be talking about a new England boss before World Cup 2022 has even begun, but that is exactly what is happening, as Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe, is once again tipped to replace Gareth Southgate as the Three Lions’ chief.

Howe’s stock continues to rise thanks to Newcastle’s surprise title challenge, so it is perhaps no surprise that he is, once again, favoured by many to take control of the national team whenever Southgate decides to step aside.

Despite all of the speculation, Howe has emphasized his commitment to the Magpies who currently sit third in the league after last weekend’s 1-0 over Chelsea.

“Iā€™m absolutely proud and honoured to be here managing this unbelievable football club,ā€ after that hard fought victory over Graham Potter’s side. My only focus is on Newcastle.

“Now, my focus is probably to have a couple of days with my family, and then reset on our training and all the processes that I need to make sure that we hit the ground running in the second half of the season.ā€

Howe’s words are music to the ears of the Toon faithful, with him firmly on his way to becoming a club legend despite only being in the hotseat for 12 months.

The worry is that the England head coach position may be too hard to turn down, particularly for a young Englishman who must have dreamed of leading his nation out on to the world stage from a young age. For now, the hope is that Howe is as excited as Newcastle fans about what looks like being a bright future on Tyneside.
