How We Lineup Against Everton

|

The lineups have been announced ahead of tonight’s game against Everton at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe has gone with an unchanged side from the one that took on Manchester United on Sunday.

I had predicted a few changes given that it’s a three game week which ends with a trip to Tottenham on Sunday which will likely be a much more intense affair than tonight’s game.

This Newcastle team fought well on Sunday but failed to score, not for the lack of trying, though. Hopefully the chances we failed to take on Sunday were taught as lessons in training this week and the lads can be more ruthless in attack tonight.

Meanwhile, Everton welcome back Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anthony Gordon which gives them an edge I wasn’t expecting when making my score prediction before.

Everton also have two top-tier centre backs for the likes of Callum Wilson to contend with, but I’m still backing the lads to win comfortably, but whereas before I expected a clean sheet, I think DCL could bag one tonight on is return.

He won’t be at full fitness and likely won’t see out the whole game, but he’s always a danger when he’s on the pitch.

Newcastle should still have enough about them to see this one through, and if the fans can be successful in getting under Pickford’s skin, that should make things easier.

I’m going now with a 3-1 win.
