Garang Kuol Makes Brilliant Cameo

|

Newcastle’s newest addition, Garang Kuol, the 18-year-old Australian wonderkid has got Geordies excited again after coming off the bench and bagging a brace for Central Coast Mariners.

The Egypt-born Australian is off to the World Cup with the Socceroos which will hopefully give Newcastle fans a chance to cast an eye over him before he joins in January. Although because of his age and work permit regulations, it’s believed he will have to be immediately loaned out to a European club to build his eligibility before he can kick a ball for the Magpies.

So it may be a while before we see him in the black and white, but that just gives him more time to develop before we unleash him on the Premier League, and unleash is the right word.

It wasn’t just the fact that Kuol bagged a brace at the weekend, it was just how spectacular one of his goals was. A crossfield ball was pinged over to him, he took it down with a deft touch and rifled it into the roof of the net from an acute angle.

He’s been bought by the club as part of their rebuild for the future, but with goals like that and the fact that he’s been capped at international level already, he might be first-team ready, at the very least he looks like the perfect player to have on the bench in a glass case that you smash with a little hammer – In case of emergencies bring on Kuol.

I’m looking forward to seeing him at the World Cup, hopefully he gets some game time so we can have a good look at him before he arrives in Toon in January.
