“Already Said Goodbye” – Newcastle Close To Signing

|

Spanish football expert, Fernando Kallas spoke to Sky Sports this morning and has strongly hinted that Newcastle have won the race to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid.

Kallas told Sky Sports News: “He’s 18-years-old and he made a very good game over the weekend. He neutralised Vinicius Junior when Real Madrid played Valladolid. I heard the coach and his team-mates are already saying goodbye to him because it’s fairly a done deal that he’s going to Newcastle.

“He had conversations with Real Madrid and Barcelona. He’s a very young player, he’s been in the Spanish national team under-18s and under-17s too. He’s going to be a good player and he’s another example of how the Premier League are just dominating the market going after players in the big five leagues. It’s almost unfair right now.”

The young right-back has been coveted by the biggest clubs in Europe including the two biggest clubs in his homeland of Spain, but it seems he has opted to move to Newcastle to be part of the new project there.

It would be a fantastic signing for Newcastle and another statement of intent. Fresneda is already playing at a top level, but coming to Newcastle he will have one of the best right-backs in the world in Kieran Trippier to learn from.

Whether Fresneda will be brought in to go straight into the first team or to be one for the future is unclear. But he’s certainly got the talent to go straight into the squad, but it does seem that Newcastle really wants to nurture their young talent such as Garang Kuol, Charlie McArthur, Alex Murphy and Lewis Miley and don’t want to rush them.
