3 Danger Men Newcastle Must Look Out For On Sunday Against Chelsea

|

Newcastle United go searching for their first win of the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season when they welcome Chelsea to St James Park this Sunday afternoon.

With just one point to their name, after the first two fixtures of the Premier League season, a win, on Sunday, would be welcomed by the Newcastle support.

However, Chelsea, having won both their opening fixtures of the new season, will provide stiff opposition.

In this article, we’ve picked three Chelsea players Newcastle will have to take care of if a result is to be obtained.

First up is Eden Hazard.

Although the Belgian international has yet to start for Chelsea this season, after his prolonged participation in the World Cup with his country, his cameo appearances from the bench, against Huddersfield Town and Arsenal, have illustrated just what a threat he is.

His low centre of gravity, allied with his natural abilities, allow him to turn sharply and drift away from defenders. In the blink of an eye, he can beat two or three men and engineer a chance for either himself or a team-mate.

Second up is Jorginho

Signed from Napoli, in the summer transfer window, the Brazilian born Italian international sits in front of the Chelsea back four and dictates the pattern of play. Jorginho is quite capable of playing long and short balls, the former often aimed towards the wide players who possess devastating pace.

Third up is N’Golo Kante

With Jorginho now in the ranks, Maurizio Sarri has opted to use the French World Cup winner in a more advanced role. Whereas in previous seasons, Kante has sat in front of the back-four, he’s now harassing teams further up the pitch as Chelsea play a high pressing game. As a result Kante, is popping up in the area and already has one goal to his name this season.

If Newcastle can keep this quartet quiet then they could well be in business this Sunday afternoon.
