Newcastle United have struggled significantly to find form this season, sitting joint-bottom of the Premier League table with no victories from their opening 10 matches.
With just two points to show from their efforts and scoring just six goals, it is clear Rafael Benitez’s side would benefit from a bit of inspiration in the final third and the lack of consistency in front of goal is proving to be a real problem.
While fans pray for money to spend in January to bring in a player capable of grabbing the game by the scruff of it’s neck, the Premier League’s official account sparked a conversation by sharing a wonder goal scored by former Magpies man.
Temur Ketsbaia’s strike against Southampton in September 1998 was shared as the account’s Goal of the Day and fans quickly responded, with many saying they wished they had that sort of player within their current squad.

Mad to think none of our players will even try to attempt to take players on like that

Pavel in goal, Howey in defence, Batty, and Rob Lee in the middle, Ginola and Gillespie on the wings, Beardsley in the No10 before it was the No10 and Al up top. So many greats and now look who’s getting a game…
