Sky Sports News are reporting that the club have rejected a £20m offer, rising to £25m, from West Ham for our captain Jamaal Lascelles. It is believed that we are not interested in selling our no.6 at any price.

However, there were a few concerning tweets from the Chronicle‘s Chief Sports Writer Lee Ryder who believes that the defender’s agent is pushing for a deal, and it could lead to something due to the club’s record for selling players:

If Lascelles is allowed to leave, it would be a huge blow. At the moment, it is clear that the player wants to stay, and considering West Ham isn’t an elite club, I can’t see why he would want to leave.

There is always a suspicion though with Mike Ashley and the board that even if they say that a player is not for sale, he is available for the right price. Still, the ball is very much in Jamaal’s court. Hopefully, he doesn’t listen to his agent and continues his excellent form under a manager who has become his mentor.

Rafa has been integral to his development and the 24-year-old no doubt owes him a debt for gratitude for placing so much faith in him at such a young age. Will Lascelles leave the club this summer? Let me know in the poll:
