We’ve won a couple of games recently with much improved performances and all of a sudden the feel good factor returns with tales of us doing this, that and tother, to our forthcoming opponents.

A team, may I add, that goes into tomorrow’s dinner time kick off, unbeaten in nine league games and the continued talk of their prize asset, Gareth Bale being their star turn week on week, so no, im not that confident but football is certain of one thing. It’s unpredictability.

However, we go into this game, as I say, on the back of some new signings, some new found confidence, which is bringing out our proper ability, a near enough full strength squad and their star striker is missing to go with the striker they didn’t buy in the window.

We also have selection problems abound with the returning Cheick Tiote adding another. Apparently these are nicer problems to have, So you could say that there is some optimism.

Previous history is in Spurs favour with their 5-0 win there last season, pretty much to the day, still pretty fresh in the memory and at the time that was a bit of a shock because we just didn’t turn up on the day that Tottenham decided to make Harry Redknapp think twice about a job he was never offered.

So there is extra incentive for us. The extra incentive for Spurs is that we beat them at St James’ in August.

We’ve not won at White Hart Lane since March 2008 when a Kevin Keegan led revival, saw us home in a 4-1 win against the odds.

Lightning can strike twice and regularly does.
