The Newcastle news has been full of frustration recently and rightly so as the regime continue to play for time in not spending any transfer kitty.

Media talk that Jacob Murphy is the next target to haggle over has been greeted with excitement from many, not so much because of who he is but because it would show the purse strings being stretched again and then less chance for Rafa Benitez to be unhappy.

Personally whilst I welcome players being bought in their younger days to develop here, I thought the focus was on experienced hands to help us in our premier league quest.

A quest that already sees Murphy’s position taken up by Matt Ritchie with the likes of Christian Atsu, Rolando Aarons and Deandre Yedlin able to fill in if necessary.

There are more needy positions in the squad and I wonder why there’s nothing at all happening here?

A striker, a creative midfielder and a decent keeper would be higher up my list but I wont criticise Rafa’s methods but just make a point about it.
