“Andy Carrol in injury shocker” – A lot of Newcastle fans are reacting to the unsurprising news that Andy Carroll is injured and will play no part in Sunday’s game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 30-year-old has suffered a slight groin injury and will be out for two weeks.
This has not surprised many Toon fans who were probably just waiting for the injuries to hit a man who has had his entire career blighted by constant injury worries.
Carroll has played four games for Newcastle on his return to the North East, and though he has not scored, he has made a significant impact in a couple of matches.
However, the most worrying news is that, the superb, Fabian Schar hurt his knee against Chelsea, and he will miss Sunday’s game as well.
There is also no timescale for his return, which has worried many Newcastle supporters – as Schar has been the Toon’s best player for the whole of 2019.
See the best of the reaction to Schar’s and Carroll’s injuries below.
Newcastle have been dealt an injury blow with both Andy Carroll & Fabian Schär to miss the Wolves match this weekend. Carroll injured his groin & Schär his knee ligaments, both at Chelsea on Saturday #NUFC

Gutted we’ve lost our main goal threat. Disappointing that Carrol’s going to be missing as well. #NUFC

Sorry Keith but this just can’t be true, Andy Carrol has never been injured and he has an amazing fitness record, so why would he suddenly be injured now?
