Newcastle United face a stern test in the battle to avoid relegation this season ahead of a gruelling campaign, where they have struggled to find consistency on the field.
Rafael Benitez’s side secured a Premier League victory at the 11th time of asking at the weekend, edging past Watford, but will be well aware that there is still plenty of work to be done – and the January transfer window will be crucial.
The Magpies are in desperate need of a rejuvenation in the transfer market but the concerns amongst the fans are widespread, with Mike Ashley regularly holding back funds and refusing to splash the cash in the market.

He was really poor in the first half against Watford. He looks slow, short of match fitness and gives the ball away too much. He honestly think he is much better than that though and if motivated the right way, can be a powerhouse in the middle of the park.

I don’t mind him getting a new deal tbh. My worry is its another colocini. We needed another cb and we gave colo a new deal instead. Diame will be a good player to keep, but we need another holding midfielder
