Steve Bruce revealed yesterday that he is willing to cram all of the rest of the Premier League games into a short amount of time to get the season complete.
In fact, he went as far to say that there could be games every day, with teams playing two or three times a week.
He told the Telegraph: “We should not return to training until it is absolutely safe to do so.
“We can have a Festival of Football month, games every day, teams playing two or three games a week.
“It’s not ideal, but if we can play 10 to 15 games in December and the start of January, we can do it to get this season finished.”
The Chronicle posted the manager’s comments to their live blog and then posted a tweet stating his claim about getting the season done.
It seems as if might have upset a few Newcastle fans though, with many responding to the tweet with a number of comments suggesting that it was a ridiculous idea.
Many implied that the United boss was stupid for the suggestion, while others said if he could keep a squad fit for the entire season, how would he plan on doing it when the games were even more congested.

He can’t keep the squad fit over the normal season. How will he with this suggestion? And wasn’t it Bruce who said there was too many games? What an idiot this bloke is.

Some of these comments come across as rather harsh, as he is only suggesting a way of getting the season finished.
If they do have to squeeze nine games into such a short time, then surely they will have to reduce the amount of time between each fixture. You could actually see this as encouraging that a manager is willing to work in overtime to get it done.
Right now the Premier League is set to return on April 30, however, in reality, we could be waiting a lot longer that. Only time will tell.
