‘We’re a disgrace’ – Some Newcastle fans are not happy with latest managerial development

Newcastle fans have been reacting on social media after Steve Bruce resigned from his role at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Times journalist Paul Joyce tweeted: “Steve Bruce is understood to have resigned as Sheffield Wednesday manager this morning, along with assistants Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence.

“All three put resignations in writing. Newcastle have made an offer of compensation to Sheffield Wed – but it is still to be accepted.”

The former Sunderland boss now looks set to take over at St James’ Park, according to a separate report in The Sun.

They claim Bruce had hoped the two clubs could come to an agreement over compensation, so he could go on to manage the club he supported as a child.

The 58-year-old only took over at Hillsborough in February after being sacked by Aston Villa earlier in the season.

Last week, The Times revealed Sheffield Wednesday were demanding £5million in compensation for their manager and believed a deal would be struck.

Judging by their reactions on social media, many Newcastle fans are not happy with the club’s decision to hire Bruce and some took to Twitter to voice their opinions…
