Mike Ashley and his ill advised advisers, have made a mistake, St James Park won’t change in our eyes, and I await the day when an owner with pride returns and understands the sentiment of memories and history.
Until the day this happens, we are of course stuck with our owner, and as always, the majority of our members on TOTT will, respect the position that the club has reached in the league, accept that we are in a better standing than any of us expected, and then think to the owner with contempt.
When the day comes, and we have the new owner that understands the meaning of NUFC, we will look back and say to ourselves, did we really stop calling the ground St James’ Park.
This site, will only refer to Newcastle Uniteds ground as ‘ST James’ Park’ we will not use Sports Direct in any articles relating to NUFC, yes, it’s a small fish in a big pond – but the message is clear – we don’t accept the name change and it is only a sign that means nothing but rubbish, associate NUFC with whatever you like, but don’t associate us with a jumble sale of white socks and kappa track suits.
