“Don’t think he’ll be a miss tbh” – A lot of Newcastle fans seem to be not worried by the latest injury news on Jamaal Lascelles.
The Newcastle captain has played every league game this season but was substituted in the 20th minute of our 2-1 win over Bournemouth.
Callum Wilson appeared to push Lascelles into Martin Dubravka, and the Evening Chronicle is reporting that the 26-year-old will be out until 2020 with suspected knee ligament damage.
Luckily Newcastle have five other players capable of playing centre-back, and we should be able to deal with the loss of Lascelles for the next few weeks.
Both Fabian Schar and Florian Lejeune should be available after the international break meaning that Lascelles’ absence should not affect the team too badly.
The Newcastle skipper is a superb organiser and leader, and we will miss those qualities, but the strength of depth we have in defence should be enough to see us through till the skipper returns.

Not great news… 😩
Newcastle United seem likely to be without Jamaal Lascelles until early 2020 after the centre-back suffered a knee injury in the 2-1 win against AFC Bournemouth.https://t.co/2NtxlhXk8o #NUFC

Not great news, but on the form of Clark, Schar and Fernandez, and with Lejeune returning, we should be OK #NUFC

Bright side – #NUFC is by far the deepest at CB.
And if we being honest, Lascelles probably isn’t one of the three best CBs on the squad.

He’s our fourth best CB, it’s no drama at all.

Don’t think he’ll be a miss tbh. Lejeune, Fernandez, Schar all better defenders

These Newcastle fans feel we will cope without Lascelles.
Wishing you a quick recovery.

That is gutting. But defense is where we have most depth. Just a shame its our skipper
