Another day begins, so does another day of misery for Newcastle supporters, judging by their reactions on social media.
It appears Ayoze Perez is joining Leicester. Losing last season’s top-goalscorer is not what has infuriated the fans the most though, nor the £30million price. The thing that has most upset the Toon Army is knowing the money received is unlikely to be reinvested.
Some fans have even acknowledged the transfer equates to good business, he did only cost £1.8million five years ago. And after all, last season was the first time he achieved double figures for league goals, he has hardly been prolific in front of goal.
However, with him leaving and without Salomon Rondon there is no question this team will struggle for goals. Fabian Schär, the defender, was Newcastle’s third-top league scorer last season, with four.
The supporters do not begrudge Perez leaving, but they did take to Twitter to share their reactions on how much of the fee they believe will be made available.
One stated ‘realistically we all know where that is going’ whilst another felt it was a ‘fantastic price but a shame the club won’t see any of it’ to reinvest.
I think the £30m Leicester bid for Ayoze Perez has triggered a buyout clause. Huge money for a player who arrived for £1.7m #NUFC

Great money if we were to reinvest it. Realistically we all know where that is going

He’ll be found out down there like, Rondon & Almiron made him look better than he is, prior to their arrivals he was mediocre, fantastic price but a shame the club won’t see any of it

Improved under Rafa. I’ve always liked him , quick feet albeit lightweight. Good price but as you say won’t see any of it. We must be the only club that doesn’t replace before we sell

It doesn’t matter when the money won’t be reinvested

Would be great if we would reinvest this, or we had a manager TO reinvest it…but that isn’t the Ashley way. It will never see the light of day again.

The club wont see any of it. We go in to pre season with Joselu as main striker.

Huge money if it was invested. The price is irrelevant. Could be £100mil but the club would still never see it ????????♂️

And we won’t see a penny of it

It doesn’t matter what the fee is because we wont spend any of it on player’s so it could be 500 million… it makes no difference
