A handful of Newcastle supporters have been reacting on Reddit lately, after user u/YellowCoupe shared that the Magpies have won each of our four final day fixtures thus far with Rafa Benitez at the helm.
Those encounters have featured a 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur, a 3-0 drubbing of Barnsley and Chelsea respectively, and last season’s 4-0 triumph at Craven Cottage, as we brought the curtain down on Fulham’s relegation campaign with a devastating effect.
If we are to maintain this run next season, though, we will probably have our work cut out, as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are set to travel to Tyneside on May 17, and will likely strengthen this summer having missed out on a maiden Premier League trophy on the final day of the season.
Our efforts to go a fifth term without a final day defeat may also hinge heavily on who stands in the United dugout, given we are rapidly approaching June 30, and Benitez is still yet to sign a new contract with the Magpies.
