Newcastle United’s winless streak in the Premier League this season reached 10 matches on Saturday after a goalless draw with Southampton, leaving the Magpies joint-bottom of the table alongside Huddersfield Town.
A lack of quality in the final third has been evident and Rafael Benitez’s side are crying out for reinforcements in January, with The Chronicle stating the Spaniard is eyeing at least three additions in the New Year.
However, with Mike Ashley regularly pinching the pennies in the market, many fans are not convinced by the reports they have been reading and are anticipating further disappointment when the market opens in a few months time.
Others expect any deals to be on loan, as they cannot see Ashley spending money, while some more pessimistic fans questioned why anyone would want to join the club given its current state.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Who would actually want to come and play under this regime unless megabucks were involved….and that's sure to happen.

It must be hopeless as a journalist writing these headlines when the club is owned by Mike Ashley. It’s not even worth reading. Pure fiction.

Crazy thing is IF we brought in 3 players of quality we would have a decent mid table team. Defensively we are good, we just cant score. We need investment in Jan, just hope we arent cut adrift at that stage

The loan situation is a big problem! Also the fear of waiting until the end of January rather than the start!

Wants a minimum of 3, will get 0. We all know how the boom bust transfer cycle works at Newcastle now

They’ll be loans if at all. No way permanents will be sanctioned when Rafas off at end of season
