Referencing one of the clubs that merged to form Newcastle United in 1892, Newcastle unveiled the away kit for the 2017/18 Premier League season.

Newcastle East End took over the St James’ Park ground and some players that Newcastle West End had due to West having financial difficulties, back in 1892. A move which saw West dissolve and the two to become what the club is known today.

With this being the 125th year since the name change, Newcastle has already done something with the home shirt to commemorate and the same applies to this away kit.

Newcastle East End wore the same shade of blue back in the 1890-91 season although with white pants and dark blue socks. This new one is basically the same light blue shirt but with dark blue shorts and powder blue socks, so it’s slightly changed.

Strangely, the strip has been revealed to go on sale in August although the new 3rd strip goes on sale tomorrow. I read somewhere that the main reason for clubs selling their kits at different times is to allow people to save cash in time for the next launch but this discounts those that have a preference of kit and may want one now.

Anyway, as an aside, we’ve had a lot worse…..
