The transfer deadline approaches with pace today now and it won’t be long until the dust begins to settle and we have to make do with what we have.
Who we manage to sign this Deadline Day remains to be seen but it certainly seems as though the Magpies are active – at long last.
We won’t hold our breath given who is in charge, though, and so until they’re pictured holding the shirt aloft I won’t count my chickens.
One player that could be set for a loan exit, meanwhile, is Jacob Murphy with the winger apparently the target of a number of clubs – according to Keith Downie on Twitter:

Murphy has found playing time hard to come by this season and a move down to the Championship could do him good.
The Magpies need to get it right, though, as he has got talent and he just needs the platform on which to show that and perform.
