Belgian goalkeeper Matz Sels is expected to complete a move back to Belgium and it could be confirmed today.

This news comes as Belgian paper, nieuswsblad.be, said that a move to Anderlecht is ongoing and all that is left is permission to be able to train with the Belgian Juliper Pro side.

It is reported that Newcastle dont want to take a massive hit on his £5.5m that was paid to Gent last Summer and that a loan is the most likely scenario.

What is new though is that by the dodgy translation of the Belgian article is that Sels has had a medical at Anderlecht and is waiting for the green light to sign.

It’s common knowledge that Rafa Benitez is in the market for another keeper and it’s not clear at this stage whether Sels move is dependant on another coming in although reports linking us with Man City’s Willy Cabelero seem off the mark as he is expected to sign for Chelsea according to Sky Sports.

Sels has looked shaky since he signed for us and just not up to the standard so far of British football. He played a total of 14 games for us.
