Toon On TV In The New Year

Sky Sports have released a list of fixtures that will be shown live in January and February with Newcastle heavily featured.

As always, the changes for TV will come with a move in date/time for most, if not all of the fixtures in question, often at great expense and hassle to the forward-planning football fan.

The Newcastle United fixtures chosen for live broadcast are:

Arsenal v Newcastle – January 3rd Kick-off 8 pm

Newcastle v Fulham – January 15th Kick-off 2 pm

Crystal Palace v Newcastle – January 21st Kick-off 5:30 pm

Newcastle v West Ham – February 4th Kick-off 5:30 pm

Bournemouth v Newcastle – February 11th Kick-off 5:30 pm

Newcastle v Liverpool – February 18th Kick-off 5:30 pm

So it looks like Newcastle are going into the new year with more televised games than non-televised, which is good news for the vast majority who can’t get to the games, but the changes to the schedule, as mentioned, can be a cause of much ire for those who have already made plans around the existing schedule. Although you’d think by now most people will have learned not to polan too far ahead when it comes to Newcastle, as changes can always be made to fixtures.

I do love how Newcastle v Liverpool is still a Sky Sports staple despite it being nearly 20 years since that 4-3 which nailed the fixture into the Sky Sports lineup each year. Though, to be fair, that fixutre does have form when it comes to providing talking points, even if it has never really reached those heights
