Newcastle players will have to pack their winter woolies when they play their Intertoto cup tie.

Northen Ireland’s Dungannon Swifts held Icelandic side Keflavik in the second leg of their encounter in Belfast. But the 0-0 scoreline means Keflavik will play Lillestrom in round two for the right to face Newcastle.

Iceland’s Keflavik won their home tie 4-1 and that was enough to put them through.

Newcastle will start the two-legged campaign on July 15/22, a win will guarantee their involvement in the qualifying rounds of next term’s UEFA Cup.
