“Thought It Was Ricky Villa” – More Messi-Like For Me, These Newcastle Fans Impressed With Future Talent

|

Newcastle United fans who spend some time looking at our potential next generation coming through the youth ranks will be keenly aware of 21-year-old Daniel Barlaser.

The youngster has been with us for the last few years and has made two senior appearances for us in the FA Cup, with a solitary showing in the EFL Cup. He’s also credited with three runouts in the EFL Trophy with the Under 23 side where he naturally spends most of his time.

The second half of last season saw him make four substitute showings for Crewe Alexandra, but a loan spell out with Accrington Stanley so far this year has already been more successful as he has four starts and three sub showings across all competitions.

He also scored his maiden senior goal in Tuesday evening’s EFL Trophy tie against Macclesfield Town, and it’s fair to say it was a beaut.

With Newcastle not having the best of times in recent years when it comes to establishing homegrown in the first team setup, the quality of the above goal has kept a number of fans hopeful that he will be the one to truly buck the trend.

As the above comments show, he’s certainly warming to a number of Stanley fans – fantastic team goal, but he will get the chance with us?
