Newcastle’s proposed takeover rumbles on for yet another week.

The Magpies’ proposed £300m takeover by the Saudi-based Public Investment Fund (PIF) looked to be no closer to being officially confirmed after the Premier League once again refused to comment on the situation.

Richard Masters spoke to Parliament via Zoom call (cited by The Guardian) where he hid behind the ‘confidentiality’ rule and gave no hints as to when the deal would be completed but did say that he would like it to be solved.

Replying to a fan on Twitter, Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope believes that the ongoing saga is doing more harm than good and believes a quick resolution needs to be done.

It is difficult to disagree with what Hope said. It has been 14 weeks since The Guardian revealed that a deal had been agreed and appear to be no closer to securing it.

The silence from all parties has been deafening. Once again, those that are left to suffer are the Newcastle fans that pay their hard-earned money to watch and support the team every week.

Do you think the takeover will be approved this week?

100%!

100%!

Nope!

Nope!

Without clarity, there is no confidence. The supporters are quickly losing faith in the Premier League and the “unhealthy” nature of the way that they are working is the perfect way to describe the current situation.
