Things Could Have Been So Different For Newcastle’s New Striker

|

This Sunday we welcome Chelsea Football Club to St James Park for a Premier League fixture.

In recent times Newcastle have a good home record against the West London side and, hopefully, it is something we can continue this Sunday.

After joining Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, our Japanese striker Yoshinori Muto will be hoping he features in Rafael Benitez’s starting eleven.

However, it turns out that Muto could if circumstances had been different, been playing for Chelsea in this fixture.

The respected news source, the Telegraph, is reporting that the 26-year-old had the chance to join Chelsea two years ago but turned the opportunity down.

It seems, according to our source, Muto didn’t fancy being sent out on loan by Chelsea.

To us, it seems a fair point with Chelsea, both this season and last season, having sent out in excess of 30 players on loan spells to other clubs.

Now whether such a practise should be allowed I’ll let you decide but wouldn’t it be great if Muto were to score the winning goal against the West London side, on Sunday.
