Newcastle fans are pretty confident there will be no takeover, judging by their reactions to a Tweet.

Fansite NUFC 360 shared a post saying if any statement is forthcoming from the Bin Zayed Group you would assume it will be today as the weekend in UAE is Friday and Saturday.

The Tweet came off the back of another one posted by Peter Redding, a sports presenter on Capital Radio UAE. His post stated BZG are still buoyant (have been waiting on PL) and a statement would be released in the next few days. He Tweeted that three days ago, there has been no such statement released.

The Sun first broke the takeover story in May, and have given updates since then that the deal is progressing, but the club have remained silent.

With no manager in place and last season’s top-scorer now gone, more fans are starting to consider that the buyout will not happen, with some not believing there was one in the first place.

Some supporters are only referring to it as the ‘fakeover’ and think there will be many more years under Mike Ashley to come. Many fans took to Twitter to share their reactions.

  • Scousers and Weegies would have lynched Cashley many moons ago. Ive never been back since KK debacle -I despise nufc gutless fanbase!

  • It’s fifteen years since I’ve been to St James Park, I said then I would never go back until something major happened, my stepson neatly convinced me a couple of months back and to be honest,i come close to going again but I am pleased I didn’t, the man in charge Mike Ashley is a complete lyer, he has know interest in the club, and in my opinion will not sell it, too many loyal fans, and got to admit I was one of them, i still love to see them do well though, and under Rafa I thought we might have stood a chance, which we did but Mr Ashley put pay to that again, just like KK and Bobby we get our hopes built up then knocked straight back down again, I know fans will still go to games no matter what but until Mr Ashley gets hot in the pocket nothing will change, in my opinion stay away, but that’s my opinion,we deserve a lot better than this.
