Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been reacting in humour to reports that BeIN Sports have written to the Premier League asking for Newcastle’s proposed takeover to be blocked.
According to The Times, The Qatari-based television network does not want the deal to go through, which is being led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and backed by Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers.
This is due to a long-running geopolitical row which has stemmed from a dispute between the two countries, which in hindsight, should have nothing to do with football.
The Daily Mail previously revealed that Mike Ashley will look to be selling the Magpies for £300m as his reign at St James; Park appears to be coming to an end.
Because of this, supporters were not buying their demands and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that the toys had been “thrown out the pram”.
I’m pretty sure they cant just block it because people dont want it to happen, they need an actual reason. (Such as failing a directors test)

BEIN wont be able to back out of an existing deal with the PL because they don’t like one of the owners. The legal ramifications from doing so would be huge and much more costly to them.

The toys are well and truly being thrown out the pram! I for one am not worried about this, the takeover is clearly happening and all the dirty shots are being fired to try and stop it, when you have the wealth of these Saudis its pretty much impossible to stop them
