Plenty of Newcastle fans have responded to claims that one of their targets does not want to leave their club.
The hunt for a forward is still on for Newcastle United in this transfer window, but they have been distanced in the past day for one of their alleged targets Josef Martinez.
According to reports from American reporter Doug Roberson, who covers Atlanta United, he says that the attacker is “very happy” where he is at the moment, with the player allegedly saying that he will play at the club until he is no longer wanted.
Should Newcastle still lodge a bid for Martinez?
Yes
No
Plenty of fans responded to these claims with a pretty mixed response. Many suggested that if the offer came along he may think a lot differently, while others spoke of their admiration for the player and his loyalty to the side.

So basically he’s happy there, if we bid enough he’d consider it, but he won’t push for anything as he is more than happy.
He has the right attitude, but I don’t think we’ll bid close to enough to entice Atlanta

Admire him and we don’t want to disrupt any his loyalty there. If anything happen it should be benefit for all parties.

Would love to see him in black and white fast scores goals strong and still only 27 yo, but I’d also like to see yoshimen or/and piatek at the mighty SJP

It’s hardly a surprise to see Newcastle go after such a prolific forward given their problems in front of goal at the moment.
So far this Premier League campaign, strikers have been responsible for just one single goal – Joelinton scoring against Tottenham back in August.
Martinez, on the other hand, has scored 77 goals in 83 MLS goals – so if they’re looking for someone who is confident in front of goal, they would get that with the 26-year-old.
