Like the infamous part of the script at Newcastle and Mike Ashley’s plans behind the scenes here to not take cups seriously in case we get relegated (that’s worked out well so far….. not), the EFL want us to forget all about the cup as well.

That’s because of the daft time and place where the draw for the next round of their ‘Caravan’ cup is being made.

Like a scene out of the film, The Hangover, the draw is being made by god knows who in the middle of Bangkok, Thailand. A draw that’ll only be being watched live by those with a hangover or any insomniacs out there considering it’ll be quarter past 4 in the morning over here.

Regardless, with the league cup changing sponsorship every other year and the interest dwindling, moving this to a different country is just another nail in the coffin of English football for me.

That’s not even taking into account whether the big clubs will even bother to play their first team players or if the crowds will bother to turn up to games.

Hopefully the organisation is better than the last couple of draw showings we’ve had with the home and away teams getting mixed up the last time.
