“Major red flags” – A lot of Newcastle United fans are convinced that the squad has already lost faith in Steve Bruce as manager after Martin Dubravka’s comments on the capitulation at Leicester.
When asked about tactics, Dubravka suggested that the players prefer using a five at the back formation – after Bruce tried to switch to a back four in the match with the Foxes.
Dubravka claims the lads are trying to do what the manager wants, but these are worrying signs so early into Bruce’s tenure.
This is now twice in two weeks where his own players have questioned his tactics.
In the draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, Isaac Hayden came over to the bench to tell Bruce his plan wasn’t working.
The signs are not good, and these Newcastle fans think Bruce has lost the dressing room.

How many times have senior players said this about Bruce’s tactics? Can’t recall it once with Rafa. The dressing room is already lost. No way back.

I didn’t realistically expect him to last past Christmas at the start of the season, to see major red flags already doesn’t bode well for his future, if this continues, first manager to be sacked?

Translation
We feel we’re more suited to Rafa’s formationSounds like the players are losing faith in Bruce.
If the players don’t believe in the manager it’s a big problem.
They 100% trusted Rafa.
They don’t seem confident in Bruce at all. pic.twitter.com/vzaeilsGBi

It is hugely damaging for players to be coming out and saying things like this publicly. Similar in some respects to Hayden’s “It’s not working” comment. It’s increasingly looking like Bruce has lost the respect of the dressing room already. Not too sure there’s any way back.

Many Newcastle fans are now sure that the dressing room does not support the manager.
Should never have even been considered for the job in the first place . No other Premier League club would have touched him. A dinosaur of a coach.

He will never, ever be the right man as manager. He is awful and he was awful before he came.

Other Toon fans are emphasising the fact they believe Bruce was not the correct appointment.
